The short version, in plain English.

What this site is

Manhattan Plumbing is a dispatch and referral service. It connects you with independent plumbing contractors who are licensed by the New York City Department of Buildings and carry their own insurance. The contractor who performs the work is responsible for it, and your agreement for the work, including price and warranty, is with them.

Pricing

Any price is given in writing by the plumber on site before work starts. Nothing on this site is a quote. Emergency and after-hours visits may carry a call-out charge, which is stated before the visit is confirmed.

Information on this site

Descriptions of common problems and building types are general guidance, not advice for your specific situation. In an active flood or gas smell, shut the supply off and call the utility or 911 first.
